A boil order will remain in effect through Friday, May 1.
We encourage students and staff to bring drinking water from home if possible. The school will also have safe drinking water available for anyone who needs it.

Best of luck to Wyatt Zimmerman, Ryder Caddell, Colton Keller, and Jeramiah Kennett as they represent Shakamak at the State Small Engines Contest tomorrow. Opportunities like this reflect both the students’ hard work and the strong leadership of Ms. Kenna Slough. We’re proud of each of them and look forward to hearing how they do.

The City of Jasonville will be repairing a water main on Tuesday, April 28 beginning at 3:00 PM. As a result, there will be a temporary water shutoff followed by a boil order in effect through Friday, May 1. During this time, regular tap water will not be available for drinking.
The school will provide access to safe drinking water as needed, and drinking fountains will not be in use. We encourage all students to bring a water bottle from home each day to help ensure they stay hydrated. Our team is working to maintain a safe and smooth school day despite these temporary conditions, and we will communicate any additional updates if needed.
We are very proud of their efforts and their representation of Shakamak. Wade finished 175th and Hart finished 253rd. Hart & Wade will return to Chicago next weekend with the rest of the Quiz Bowl Team to compete in the Small School National Quiz Bowl Tournament. For the next tournament, Shakamak is identified as a VSS (Very Small School) and yet we will be there competing with the other schools from across the United States.

Students who signed up participated in hands-on learning and were proud to earn their certificates upon completion. They gained valuable knowledge in adult and infant CPR, AED use, choking response, and essential childcare and caregiving skills.
A special thank you to Ashley White, RN from Greene County General Hospital, for leading this impactful training and sharing her expertise with our students.
We are also grateful to City Connects and Greene County General Hospital for partnering with us to provide this meaningful opportunity. Experiences like this help prepare our students to be confident, capable, and ready to care for others.
