We are pleased to share that the areas of the school affected by flooding are now dry, and cleanup and restoration work continue.
District staff and professional cleanup crews are taking special care to thoroughly clean the affected areas and ensure the building and indoor air are safe and healthy for students and staff.
Based on our progress at this time, we plan to resume in-person school on Monday, August 17. We will continue monitoring conditions throughout the weekend and will notify families promptly if anything changes.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has worked, provided resources, and supported our district throughout this response. The outpouring of assistance from our staff, families, community, and responding agencies has been truly extraordinary.

Shakamak' s Volleyball match with Vincennes Rivet on Saturday, August 14, 2026 will be Varsity Only with a start time of 11:00am
Friday, August 14, will be an asynchronous learning day for MSD of Shakamak. Students should not report to school. Lessons will be posted in Google Classroom, and families will be given flexibility with all assignments.
