As I close out 2025 and reach the midpoint of the school year, I’m taking a moment to reflect.

The first half of this year has been about listening, learning, and building relationships, getting to know our students, staff, families, and community, and building on the many good things already in place at Shakamak. Along the way, we’ve made progress in classrooms through intentional data conversations, launched a district rebrand that reflects who we are, strengthened partnerships, and continued to show up with pride for our schools and community.

This work has also come with real challenges. Change, even positive change, is not always easy, and I’m grateful for the patience, professionalism, and care shown by our staff as we navigate this work together.

Looking ahead to 2026, I’m excited to continue strengthening how we support students, including clearer systems that help connect the good work already happening across our schools. When each one of us picks up the oar and rows together, progress follows.

"Once a Laker, always a Laker."

Thankful for the work so far and hopeful for what’s ahead.superintendent photo
